Theta Chi Re-Installs Beta Delta/Rutgers

On Saturday, April 12th, the Beta Delta Chapter was re-installed at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. 48 men were initiated, with 2 more on exchange to be initiated next semester.

Theta Chi has taken the Rutgers campus by storm. After being in existence for a little more than a year, they are now the fourth largest of 23 fraternities. They have been # 1 #2 grades for their first two semesters, and they are currently in first place for the "Keller Cup" which is awarded to the all sports intramural champion.

Theta Chi owes many thanks to:

Regional Counselor Alex Ruiz: He works on campus and attends nearly all of the Beta Delta meetings. Brother Ruiz was presented with the Alumni Award from the Grand Chapter at the end of the installation ceremony. One undergrad remarked that “this was the first time Alex was speechless.” Brother Ruiz did all of the pre-work and planning for the initiation and installation ceremonies so everything ran like clockwork.

Former LEC Lucas Elgie: He recruited the first 18 men for the Interest

Group and set them on the path to success. Lucas flew in for the weekend and fittingly served as the Marshal for the initiation and installation ceremonies.

The Beta Delta Alumni Corporation and Chapter Advisory Board: There are at least four core alumni who stayed the course over the last few years protecting the corporation's assets (selling the old house when the chapter closed, investing the proceeds wisely and now purchasing another house to be occupied in the of Fall 2008), and providing consistent advisement to the group.

Several current and former official family members were present for the re-installation including: National Marshal Richard I.L. Partridge National Historian Joe D'Amore, Executive Director Dale Taylor, Former National Vice President Dick McCauley Former National Secretary Al Bulliner, , Regional Director Christian Chace, Regional Counselor Doug Rentko, current LEC’s Chris Conley and Mike Dukles
